What is Adesilex P7?
Adesilex P7 is a high-performance, polymer-modified cementitious tile adhesive developed for the installation of ceramic tiles, porcelain tiles, and mosaics on walls, floors, and ceilings in both interior and exterior environments. Classified as a C2T adhesive according to EN 12004, it provides improved bond strength and zero vertical slip — making it a reliable choice where tile security and precise positioning are priorities.
Its advanced formulation delivers strong adhesion to conventional cement-based substrates, with a highly thixotropic consistency that prevents tile sagging on vertical applications. This makes Adesilex P7 particularly well-suited for wall tiling projects where alignment accuracy is critical, including projects involving heavier ceramic and porcelain formats.

Application Guide — UAE Site Conditions
Follow these recommendations to achieve maximum adhesion, tile stability, and long-term installation performance under UAE site conditions — including high temperatures, thermal movement, and demanding commercial environments. Always refer to the current Mapei TDS.
Surface Preparation
Ensure the substrate is structurally sound, fully cured, clean, and free from dust, laitance, grease, oil, wax, paint, curing compounds, and loose particles. Cement renders should be cured approximately 1 week per centimetre of thickness; cement screeds for a minimum of 28 days. Gypsum-based substrates and anhydrite screeds must be completely dry (max. 0.5% residual moisture), dust-free, and primed using suitable primers such as Primer G or Mapeprim SP. In areas subject to extreme dampness, prime with Primer S.
Mixing
Pour clean water into a suitable mixing container and gradually add Adesilex P7 powder while mixing with a low-speed mechanical mixer until a smooth, lump-free paste is achieved. Mixing ratio is 24–26% water by weight — approximately 6.0–6.5 litres per 25 kg bag. Allow the mixture to stand for approximately 5 minutes, then re-mix briefly before application. The prepared adhesive remains workable for approximately 8 hours at +23°C under normal conditions.
Adhesive Application
Apply using a notched trowel selected according to tile size and substrate. First spread a thin contact layer using the flat side of the trowel to improve substrate wetting, then immediately comb additional adhesive with the notched side to achieve the required bed thickness. Select trowel size to achieve 65–70% contact coverage for internal walls and light-traffic areas, or 100% coverage for heavy-traffic areas and all exterior works. For external applications, swimming pools, and high-traffic areas, always back-butter the tile.
Tile Installation
Install tiles firmly into the fresh adhesive using a slight twisting motion to ensure complete contact. Under normal conditions, Adesilex P7 provides an open time of approximately 20 minutes. High temperatures, strong winds, direct sunlight, and highly absorbent substrates may significantly reduce this. Regularly check that the adhesive surface remains fresh and has not skinned before tile placement. If a skin has formed, remove the adhesive and apply fresh material — do not wet the skin with water. Tiles may generally be adjusted within approximately 60 minutes after installation.
Curing & Protection
Protect newly installed tiles from rain, running water, frost, and excessive sunlight immediately after installation. Avoid exposing tiled surfaces to water for at least 24 hours after installation. Protect installations from direct sunlight and extreme weather conditions for approximately 5–7 days during the curing period.
Grouting, Finishing & Performance
Wall joints may generally be grouted after 4–8 hours and floor joints after 24 hours, using compatible Mapei cementitious or epoxy grouts such as Ultracolor Plus for durable, colour-consistent joints. Seal expansion and movement joints with appropriate Mapei sealants. Once fully cured, Adesilex P7 provides excellent adhesion, zero vertical slip, high moisture resistance, strong stability under thermal movement, and long-term durability — suitable for bathrooms, kitchens, shopping centres, hotels, hospitals, educational facilities, swimming pools, and general tile installations throughout the UAE.
Do Not Re-Wet Skinned Mix
If a skin forms on the applied adhesive or in the bucket, remove and replace with fresh material. Never wet the skin to restore workability — water on a skinned surface creates an anti-adhesive film that causes debonding.
Unsuitable Substrates
Do not use on precast or poured concrete walls, surfaces subject to extreme flexing or vibration (wood, fibre-cement), or metal. For flexible or movement-prone substrates, specify a flexible C2 S1/S2 adhesive instead.
Short Open Time in Heat
The 20-minute open time shortens sharply in UAE summer heat, wind, and direct sun. Work in small sections, check for skinning before placing each tile, and back-butter large-format tiles to guarantee full contact.
