What is Fugabella Color?
Fugabella Color is a decorative resina-cemento (resin-cement) hybrid grout for the grouting of ceramic and porcelain tiles, mosaic, and natural stone, available in a 50-colour design range. A green product for bio-building, it brings together the workability of a cementitious grout with the performance of a resin system.
This groundbreaking hybrid grout is ideal when decorating any surface in porcelain, ceramic tiles, mosaic, and natural stone. It achieves performance characteristics such as water-repellence, very low water absorption, high surface hardness, high resistance to the most common acidic substances, and total colour uniformity — delivered in a fine-grain finish with superior flexibility. The 50-colour collection is curated by colour designer Piero Lissoni with high CATAS-tested chromatic uniformity.

Fugabella Color — 50 Colour Range by Piero Lissoni

Application Guide — UAE Site Conditions
Follow these steps for optimum grouting performance with Fugabella Color in UAE's hot, dry, and high-humidity environments. Always refer to the current Mapei Technical Data Sheet for exact mixing ratios and timings.
Joint Preparation
Ensure the tile adhesive has fully set before grouting — refer to the adhesive TDS for the minimum waiting time. Rake out and clean the joints to a uniform depth, removing all adhesive residue, dust, and debris. Joints must be clean, open, and free from loose material to allow full grout penetration and a consistent finished depth across the whole tiled area.
Mixing
Add the Fugabella Color powder to clean mixing water at the ratio stated on the Mapei TDS, mixing with a slow-speed drill and paddle until a smooth, lump-free, uniform paste is achieved. Use the exact same water ratio for every batch to preserve the high CATAS-tested chromatic uniformity of the product. Mix only the quantity that can be used within the working time.
Grouting the Joints
Apply the grout diagonally across the joints using a rubber grouting float, working it firmly into the full depth of each joint to ensure complete filling with no voids. Remove excess grout from the tile surface by holding the float at a steep angle and drawing it diagonally across the joints to avoid pulling grout out of the joint. The fine-grain finish allows a smooth, refined joint profile.
Cleaning & Finishing
Once the grout has begun to set but is still workable, clean the tile surface with a damp (not wet) sponge, working diagonally across the joints to avoid disturbing the grout lines. Excess water during cleaning can wash out fines and cause patchy colour — wring the sponge well and change rinse water frequently to maintain uniform colour.
Curing & Return to Service
Allow the grouted joints to cure per the Mapei TDS before exposing to water, foot traffic, or cleaning agents. Protect freshly grouted areas from rapid drying in direct sun or strong air movement during initial cure. For underfloor-heated installations, do not switch on the heating until the grout has fully cured per the technical data sheet.
Consistent Water Ratio
Use the exact same water ratio for every batch. Variation in water content causes visible colour differences between batches — particularly noticeable on large areas and undermines Fugabella Color's signature total colour uniformity.
Controlled Cleaning
Do not over-wet during cleaning. Excess water washes fines from the joint surface and causes patchy, uneven colour. Use a well-wrung damp sponge and change rinse water frequently to preserve uniform shade.
Underfloor Heating
Although suitable for underfloor heating, do not activate the heating system until the grout has fully cured per the Mapei TDS. Premature heating can cause rapid moisture loss, affecting both strength and colour consistency.
